So with today being a very active day with a 5km round trip walk to the gym, 1.5 hours mix of cardio and weight training plus the the usual school run of 2.5km, Fitbit has added 1602 calories to my 1680 goal for the day. Just finished my dinner (rather yummy chicken and rice), have obviously had lunch and breakfast along with a 300Calorie protein bar and a Graze box and I'm still in negative calories. I can probably get in to positive by eating a bowl of Greek yoghurt and berries later, but seriously am not going to manage another 1750 Calories today no matter how calorie dense the food I eat is.

That's great if you can eat it. My fitbit adds between 1000 and1500 every day and no way can I eat that much. However I do try my best but usually end up with a few hundred to spare.. Just a thought, the syncing has been very glitchy for weeks now so double check your burns aren't being added twice just in case, this happened to me several times, along with under reporting burns and now fitbit is adding extra meals into my eaten calorie category too so it looks like I have gone over calories into the red on the fitbit app!

Just to add I weigh 251.8lb and have eaten 1500 calories today. I'm very active and on a non-gym day will walk around 15000 steps which gives me around 1000 extra calories to play with, not that I ever eat them all, I just like that they're there if I fancy something a little bit naughty.

Awesome workouts! Just remember that exercise calories may be over-estimated and you don't want to eat ALL of them back. Most people aim to eat 50-75% of their exercise calories.

Oh I never eat them all, even if I indulge in chocolate or a takeout. I try my best to stick with the original allowance which is set to lose 1lb/week, then anything else is a bonus.

1000 calories for 15000 steps seems wrong it would give me maybe 400 or so and i use to weigh that not very long ago. Where are you getting your numbers from?

From Fitbit. My MFP activity level is set to sedentary (because that's where I started) with 1lb/week weight loss. I generally start the day with a -100 Calorie adjustment and move in to positive by around 3000 steps. With a two year old and an ASD/ADHD child to run after unless ill I never have less than 120 active minutes (yesterday was 240minutes). As for weightloss I'm still dropping quite fast and according to Trendweight am losing 3.1lb a week and burning 1041 Calories more a day than my plan which fits with the extra calories Fitbit gives me.

I disagree. That number seems about right, actually. I'm also set to sedentary and I get at least 400 extra calories from steps at the 12000 mark and I'm 112.5 pounds. I use a Fitbit Charge HR and I even have it set to my dominant hand when it's on my non dominant hand.
