Everyone has different methods of how they do lifting. Some people do upper, lower and then a day off. Some do cardio every day. Some only every other.

From my personal experience, I've found that alternating upper body/lower body every day works best and I incorporate cardio into my daily routine. I take no rest days, but most people do every other, or two straight work out days and then a rest day.

If it were me, I would do cardio followed by lower body tonight. But if you don't want to spend that much time working out, you can either do cardio tonight or lower body. It doesn't matter if you split up your strength days with cardio days or not. Depends on how your body is feeling and what your goals are.

Hit it again tonight. Cardio should just be once or twice a week, 20 mins ea of a HIIT Sprint 8 program. Any more cardio than this is counter-productive.

Cardio and lifting is a great combo, but it's highly recommended to do cardio after lifting rather than before (other than a warm up) to prevent injury.

ETA: I just noticed you said weight machines.. I was thinking you were using free weights.

Yes, absolutely it is okay to do lower body tonight. Why would it not be? Not trying to be rude, just curious as to why you would think it's not okay.

Since you're working a different set of muscles, totally cool to do your lower split today.

If you want to do cardio as well as lift, then do your lifting first so your muscles aren't fatigued then do your cardio.

I've heard this before, how do you warm up for doing weights when you do cardio afterwards?

I figure she planned to go to the gym tomorrow and didn't want to have to just do cardio since she'd done both upper and lower the day before and should have a rest day before hitting one or the other again.
