Calories Burned Walking

So I walk about 3-6 miles a day just to get around town, and usually I log the calories I've burned walking. I am trying to slim down a bit and am not sure if I am supposed to allow myself these extra calories from walking. Should I be logging these calories into my daily exercise, or do they not count?

If it's just walking around to places you're going and not actual exercise, then it should be part of your activity level. Or you can purchase an activity tracker (Fitbit, etc.) that will record all your steps and give you an adjustment on MFP for anything beyond your chosen activity level.

I walk between 6-10 miles a day, at a nice steady pace to keep my heart rate elevated. According to my heart rate monitor, I average between 130-145bpm...which is exercise, so yes, I log it in. Only thing I do not log is normal walking (to and from bathroom, to a different room/office. Any time you walk steadily for a decent period of time (20-30minutes+), log it in!

if its something you do every day and not deliberate exercise, it needs to be factored into your daily activity level.
