Scale question

Is it possible for the scale to show you a lesser weight than what you really are?

    Yup.
Of course, that means your scale is broken.

Sure, just use the little wheel at the bottom to set it back five lbs. lol.

Seriously though... Not by much unless your scale is junk. I believe most scales function via measuring distension in a spring, so if the spring is damaged or old, it will be out of whack. Put a 10lb bag of potatoes on it.

    It can.

Remember, a scale has to be on a flat and level surface to get the most accurate read. If it is regularly moved, hit, etc. it can show an incorrect reading. Also, the surface it is on can impact the reading. My scale will show me as 10-15lbs less than I really am if it is on carpet or an uneven floor.

Find a spot for the scale where it doesn't need to be moved and won't get hit. Make sure it is a flat surface and it is level. Floor should be a hard floor (if on tile make sure the feet of the scale do not sit on the grout between tiles).

Mine is inaccurate the first time I step on it. I move it around every day so every morning I have to step on it twice to get my actual weight. The first time I let it weigh and clear itself before stepping back on it.

Unfortunately I just don't have a spot that isn't carpeted where I could keep it without moving it.

Ok thank you! I have it set on a piece of plaster because my bathroom floor is uneven.
