Snacks?

I have a problem during the day with feeling extra hungry between meals, to the point I used to eat a ton of junk just to feel full. I know its not because I am thirsty, which is what I thought it was originally. I make a point to drink at least 3 of my 32 oz water bottles. What are some good snacks to keep around the house and in my bag for when I need that bit during the day instead of turning to junk. I'm looking for low calorie but fulfilling snacks. Thanks guys, I am really trying to make this work.

Whole natural almonds have been my snack choice lately.0

fruit and vegetables- apples and carrots are pretty filling, so is watermelon. i also like turkey jerky and quaker fiber crisps, light mozzarella string cheese, fiber one makes 50cal fat/sugar free yogurt. nuts are also good. chewing sugar free gum may help as well (sometimes i'll chew a pack in a day haha), you could also eat fiber one bars or other healthier cereal bars. there are also some decent 100 calorie packs out there, but i don't usually eat them because i want more than one.
hope that helps!0 -
Oops sorry. I like 1) 100 calorie dark chocolate cocoa roasted almonds
2) mini babybel light cheese (50 calories)
3) Laughing cow mini cheese wedges (35 calories) with special k crackers ( 13 of them is 60 calories)
4) Pure protein bars- chocolate deluxe (180 calories and 20g of protein)
5) Half of english muffin with 1 tablespoon of peanut butter ( I use health lite english muffins (80 calories)
6) Oikos vanilla greek yogurt (small one is 80 calories and medium size is 110 calories and 15g of protein!) with fresh fruit
Good luck!!0 -
I love the cheese cubes from Gordon's food service, Havarti is my favorite and only 25 cals a cube. I have a couple with an apple or a couple of Triscuit crackers and it keeps me going.0

Since its been hot I have been making fruit smoothies, then freezing them until they are mostly frozen then eating them.
I buy the Yoplait Frozen Yogurt Smoothie one bag makes two 8 ounce servings and they are yummy!! Plus low in calorie and have some fiber and protein in them.
Also I like food that takes a while to eat.....It makes me feel like I am eating more <---sillly I know
So with it being semi frozen you can't just scarf them down.0 -
cottage cheese and fresh fruit, carrots and celery with hummus, tuna, hard boiled eggs, fruit, oatmeal0

I use protein bars, almonds, some select cereal bars, carrots, cukes, broccoli, cauliflower, apples as portable/on the go snacks. I usually have 1 or 2 in my bag, just in case hunger hits while I'm out and about.....cheese would also be a good addition. think protein if you're wanting to feel full and feel that way for as long as possible.0
