I just purchased a Fitbit Charge HR but I haven't used it yet...the reason being is because I've been reading a lot of reviews and honestly I don't think I like what I've been reading so I'm considering returning it for something else.
This is what I want one to do:
Track my heart rate
Track calories burned
Waterproof (I need a knee replacement and my Dr advised mostly water exercise)
So that's basically all I need. I don't really care abut it tracking my sleep and all the other things that the Fitbit Charge HR does....is there anything out there like this? I think it's not much to ask for, but I'm wondering if the waterproof aspect is asking to much?
Thank you for any advice you can give me!

The HR is certainly NOT waterproof so you can't use it when swimming.
iirc the polar range are waterproof so you may want to have a look at them.
Or maybe as a low cost option, get a moov just for the swimming.

No problem.
FWIW I do love my HR as it's a great motivator, the heart monitor wasn't the primary reason for buying that particular model, rather the fact it has a proper strap that I could be confident in.
I'm sure others may be along with more suggestions.

I have a Garmin Vivosmart Hr. It is very similar to the Fitbit Charge Hr but waterproof! You can shower & swim with the Vivosmart Hr.0

Also, just heads up, Fitbit will be coming out with the Fitbit Blaze- it's like the Surge, 50.00 cheaper, and it has changeable bands. I'm going to buy the Blaze and give my Surge to my friend.0

sounds like the vivosmart HR is what you need. However, I am guessing you are not trying to measure your HR while swimming but you will be doing water aerobics etc? I'm not sure if you will get good HR readings while in the water though (definitely not while swimming).0

Well I like the HR for tracking, but the majority of my exercise has to come from water aerobics...I don't think I'll be doing much swimming? I just got approved at the YMCA for a discounted membership so I'll be going in there today to finish the membership and get started. I'll be going on their scheduled water exercise classes I'm assuming? I'm new to the water thing...I've always been a walker, but can't do that anymore due to my knee0
