Adipex question

I do not take Adipex but am just wondering.
I am reading on here and a lot of people are saying that once you go off it, you gain "all the weight back."
Well, if you continue to eat healthy and follow a fitness plan will you still gain that weight back?
Or is it just the people who rely only on the pill, still eat bad, and don't exercise who gain the weight back?

it really helped to curb my appetite. I didn't track what I was eating, I just know I ate a lot less. And if my tummy grumbled, I LIKED it! This is not the right way to do it, so naturally it did come back. I have learned portion control and learned to notice what is in my food! I have learned to eat healthy, not over look the fact that I am hungry. And I work out 6-7 times a week, doing different activities at different times of the day. This time I am doing it for life!0

i can tell you that it is very easy to gain the weight back. even if you do eat healthy, apidex speeds your metabolism up so much, that just quitting with out slowing down will put your body in to a bit of a shock. you have to be weened off the apidex in order to not gain weight back, and you have to work really really hard at keeping it off.0

So if you ween yourself off it, you can successfully keep the weight off? I am interested in trying it but only for a few months (considering its only meant to be a short term supplement)
Has anyone tried it and what did you lose?0 -
i believe a doctor has to ween you off the medication. you can only get it through prescription, anyway. it's a very addictive medication, and also is mainly for morbidly obese people. i would talk to your physician about it. and if your physician doesn't prescribe the medication, then you probably don't need it.0

I have been on Adipex since May 5th! Today is June 19th! I have lost 31 lbs! I have completely altered my life style. I am intaking 1200 calories a day, Walking or Zumba almost every night. And eating mostly good things. I am not eating junk, I am not drinking pop. The only drinks are water an occassional G2 or propel. I know many people that have kept the weight off! U have to be responsible. Keep up workouts and ur recommended calorie intake. Those the take it and treat it like a miracle pill and go lax after they finish are going to gain it back. Those that I know that have kept with their same regimen have maintained their weight or even continued to lose. My doctor will treat me until my bmi is 27 which for me is 142 lbs at 5 foot tall that is still not the ideal weight. So u see doctors cant give it to u to get u to ur lowest weight. A healthy bmi is 18 to 25. Once u hit ur bmi the doctor will send u home with one more prescription and u are to wean urself off. I take half a pill in the morning and half a pill in the afternoon. DO NOT DRINK COFFEE, MT DEW, or anything severally caffeinated with it...u will go bonkers! The only side affect I have had is some sleepless night and occassional dry mouth. It totally gives me energy! So if u want my thought on it....u can keep it off if u want to keep it off....Its not like other medicines.....This pill is only and appetite suppressant it IS NOT A PILL THAT SPEEDS UR METABOLISM. What does speed ur metabolism is u getting the right amount of calories and combination of exercise...u are jump starting ur metabolism. friend me if u have any other questions1
