ACL Reconstruction

Hey guys!
So I don't know how many people have gone through this injury or really any type of injury, but it can be mentally and emotionally debilitating. I just tore my acl two weeks ago and have had such an amazing support group including friends, family, and the nutritional coaching I get with working against gravity, specifically Hillary Rizor (she's absolutely amazing). But I wanted to reach out and let people know that there are others out there who are going through similar set backs. I have found that my nutrition has been one of the only things I can control during this recovery (besides making sure to do all my exercises), and i feel like my flexible dieting has helped me so much so far on this road. But if anyone has advices on stretches one can do with a reconstructed acl (I can bend 120 degrees) so I can open my hips up again and gain some more ankle flexibility, that would be amazing! Or if anyone just wants to reach out .

Hey! I was in a bad car accident in October. My knee was basically destroyed, but they did surgery to repair my mensicus and ACL. I've lost 22 pounds since my surgery. I totally understand what you're going through.0

Hey, I totally understand what you are going through. I was a competitive athlete, playing a ton of soccer and competing in long distance running. I injured my knee 2 years ago and had a reconstructive surgery this past November to repair my ACL and Meniscus. It took a long time before I was even back to walking properly (after Christmas), let alone being "active". I just started a couch 2 5k last week, and my fitness is nowhere near where it used to be. It can be frustrating for sure, and my weight has definitely gone up during this process too... keep at it though! I know I will.0

I may bracing hip surgery. I'll know
More on tues. for 5 months we've been trying to determine if I can't walk bec of a back issue. That's been ruled out so now we are looking at my hip. My main form of stress relief has always been exercise- specifically running. I've been struggling w not taking my stress out on my eating habits but it's been hard. Trying even harder to dig in and generally stick to the meal plan my nutritionist laid out for me. I worry about following it too rigidly as I have a long history of eating disorders. I am trying to turn this injury into the best thing that could have happened to me. If I can normalize my eating, I will feel so accomplished by the time I'm all healed. This is a reminder of slow and steady!!!!
Hope your healing is going well!!!0 -
I understand what you're going through . I tore my ACL and meniscus.I have the knee brace for when I do construction or stage crew work . I am a few days away from doing that . If you can bend 120 degrees the excise bike is cool but do it backwards . Walk in the pool with a friend and walk in the pool.0
