Hitting a Plateau

Hi all! I'm actually not new to My Fitness Pal. I've been using it for almost three years now. In three years I have lost about 70 pounds by logging and some exercise. I still need to lose about 60 more pounds in order to be at a healthy and "normal" weight. I don't care to be skinny or even "thin", I just want to be healthy and feel good.

For the first time I'm reaching out to the community for some support. I have come to believe that after more than six months of reaching a "plateau" at my current weight, I need a little push and inspiration. A 70 pound weight loss is a lot of weight. I am very proud of myself and I have worked hard for it. But at this point I am only maintaining and not losing. As a woman who is 5'9", 43 years old, and pretty active, maintaining a weight of 245ish pounds just won't do. I can go much farther. I'm just "stuck".

I gained my weight during pregnancy. All my life I maintained a very healthy weight. Now I'm just struggling with my scale and it just won't budge.

If you're still reading please offer any suggestions or words of inspiration and maybe add me to your friends list. I think by growing my friends I will be inspired by other peoples' accomplishments. It will be comforting to know that I inspire others who have similar struggles as well.

The beauty of a plateau is now you know how many calories it takes to maintain your current weight. Take heart that is a good thing. Do you use a food scale to weigh all foods?

Thank you so much that is a big help! I am not using a good scale and I've never tried it. I will give it a shot. I read through the flow chart.....brilliant! Thank you for taking the time. What a helpful piece of information.
