Question for Fitbit users

I synced my Fitbit with mfp. Is the Fitbit adjustment my exercise calories? If so do I no longer log exercise and just allow my Fitbit to do it?

    Correct, you don't need to log the exercise if it's already recorded on your Fitbit.

    Yep. Let Fitbit handle all step related activity. If you do non-step related things like weight lifting, swimming and cycling you need to log those manually if you want the exercise counted. When you log it (either on the fitbit app or MFP) Fitbit will overwrite any step activity with your other workout so you won't get double calories.

    For instance I walk around 14k steps on an average day. I also do some work with horses trimming their feet. This I log separately because am standing on one place a lot but using a lot of muscle and working hard. I also practice a martial art three nights a week. I wear the tracker during those sessions and allow fitbit to count whatever it tracks. For that it gives me a lower calorie adjustment than I would get logging martial arts manually but I am okay wit this since most logged exercises overestimate calories burned.

    I eat back all or most of my fitbit adjustments and have not had trouble losing weight.

    I find it hard to believe the step count on fitbit. In my work i use my hands a lot at shoulder level (i'm a barber) I've found standing in the one spot and say for instance drying someones hair, fitbit will add maybe 30-40 steps just from the movement of my hands.
    For instance today i've logged over 15000 steps.. I went to work for roughly 7 hours and went to the gym this evening doing weights. I find it hard to believe that its anywhere near accurate?

    Can't advise you on that as we don't watch you all day long. I'll say that I find my Fitbit step/calorie count to be accurate enough to meet my average weekly weight loss goals. Why not "believe" your Fitbit for a few weeks, eat accordingly, and see how it shakes out?
