Alcohol on the weekends leading to weight gain

Does anyone else eat and exercise really well all week, then the weekend hits, a few classes of wine later, out eating, and next thing you know your 2000+ calories over your allowance.. Monday morning and all your hard work from the past week has been wiped out? Looking for any advice on how to change these derailing weekends?

Can you try not drinking for a few weeks to see how that effects things? I went dry (I know it's not for everyone) at the beginning of the year and have steadily lost 2 pounds each week.

Or maybe you could try eating at 100 cal deficit every day? Basically banking your calories for the weekend.

Is it the wine or the food you're eating that's getting you in trouble?

My weekends are my rest days and I tend to eat more because my husband is home. It is OK for me because I exercise during the week and have extra calories of I go off of my weekly numbers rather than daily. I don't drink that much but if I do it balances out because I'm under during the week.

I think you should examine why you're having trouble moderating your alcohol intake. If it's a social thing, having a soda water and lime "mocktail" just to have something fizzy and cold in your hand can help. If it's more that you want the effects of alcohol, you should probably take a few weeks off just to shake up your habits.

You've answered it. If you aren't consistent on the weekend, then don't expect the results to be the same on Monday.
