First ,please forgive me but I need to vent...
Why do people think that "having 1 won`t hurt".
I work in an office where people are constantly bringing in chocs and cakes to celebrate something or other and insist that you join in. Most of the time they know what I`m trying to do but seem determined to force me to have one no matter what I say.
Its hard not look like a complete killjoy but still say no!
I WISH THEY`D LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!

Ugh I hate that! Unfortunately they probably won't stop- just keep doing what you do and let them consume the calories and sugar! Remeber that you can celebrate without food and destroying all your hard work!0

Hey a nice fruit platter cost the same as a cake, maybe you should point that out. i do indulge but i will have 1/3 of a piece so it is about 100 calories or less. I have 1 to 3 100 calories snacks during the day anyways. I will slowly eat it, savoring every bite. I will have the cake surrounding my taste buds longer than those that chop down 2 pieces or more. I win they lose. o r I should say I win and I lose! Har har har!0

"Actually one would hurt - you see my self esteem is tied up in me doing this! To have one of those chocolates you are offering me I'd need to spend another 15 minute on the exercise bike at the gym to burn it off. That would make me 15 minutes late home to my family... Can you see where this is headed?
No need to bite your head off? Well sorry but you did ask! Thanks for the kind offer but no, I don't want one."

I know what you mean. I think people intentionally do that so that they don't feel as bad eating it! Good job sticking to your decision not to eat it. I admire you for that0

i agree with penny5, i think it makes them feel less guilty when they get you to join them, my family does it to me alot ! i just let it roll off my back and stick to my guns....0

Thanks guys,
I think you`re right. I`m sure a therapist would lable it as calorie transferance syndrome...0 -
My office already KNOWS how "weird" I am & they've learned to leave me alone! Stick to your principles!!!!0

I am finding that relishing the role of killjoy is an acquired taste. Unpleasant at first, but I'm getting better at it. Your true friends, or people who really care about you, won't keep at it and will respect your choices. Feel the freedom to ignore the rest.0 -
Bring in a batch of tofu cakes, and tell them the same thing... one won't hurt! (blah!)0
