How do I log this food?!?

My parents are pork, beef, and chicken farmers. So when they get animals butchered they give my husband and myself some meat.

How do I log the meat when I eat it though? I type in "Natural Mild Italian Sausage" but it's all brands. Do I make my own food from the meats?

I'm confused.

If you make sausages at home from fresh meat, could you use the recipe function? You could add the ingredients (meat, anything else you put in like onion or spices) and then work out your calories per sausage?

I'd use the recipe function since you essentially know what's going into it. Since it's homemade, the calorie differences may be vastly different.

I could do that. Thank you. Didn't even cross my mind.
