Last couple of weeks was all Dads and Grads and Restaurants and BBQ's. Although I still exercised and stayed under my calorie and fat counts every day, I teetered with gaining and loosing the same pound or 2. It really showed that the types of calories you eat plays a significant role in your weight loss. I'm no expert but this week taught me not to be fooled by just by staying under your targets. You have to look at the whole picture and eat the right foods.

Well MFP friends, it's back to the grind for this gal. :ohwell:

Of course, eating 2000 Calories of sweets is not the same as eating 2000 Calories of healthy clean foods...great post!

So true! But hey, if teetering gets you through a couple of weeks without backsliding, that is AWESOME. I think it makes it that much easier to get back on track.

Weight loss is just math (calories in and out), you can eat your calories in twinkees and big macs every day and still lose weight. Now for health and nurtition you do need to eat heathy foods.
You were probably experiencing a higher than normal sodium which was causing water retention, hence your difficulty losing the weight.

Great post. I have had a similar week. I can't seem to outrun the sodium!!! It is a MONSTER. The nasty water retention monster.

Same here, there has been a lot going on and a lot of food involved. The sodium beast has followed me and I have not been able to slay it.

This is a new week. I will pay special attention to all that goes in. Thanks for the reminder. :-)

You have to adjust based on what you might be eating. Example, we had a BBQ yesterday. I knew i wanted a a double cheeseburger, (Two slices of cheese, 1 bun, and 2 burgers, each about 3oz each) corn on the cob, with no calorie i can't believe its not butter, and some apple cobbler.) I adjusted what i ate for breakfast and lunch ,made sure i worked out some so i could have that.

I did lose weight this weekend but i did get to eat mostly of what i wanted. It's a win win.

It's all about the plan. at least for me. :)

I had a club sub on the weekend. I went with whole wheat and I tried to load it up with healthy veggies and mushrooms instead of my usual super-salty olives. Also avoided the pickles too. I had a water for the drink. (I know the meat is loaded with salt but this is the first sub in a month).
I agree. If I eat really fat, junky food, it seems to stay with me longer and I also get a bit of acid reflux (which I no longer get since eating healthier - no longer take medication for it either).
