What's the difference?

OK so here's a question for everyone. I've seen so many people on here and others on the Internet etc who manage to lose 100 or more pounds in 12 - 18 months (I've even seen one who lost over 200 pounds in 18 months). My question is how are they doing this???? When I started I wanted to lose at least 150 pounds. I realized this is a huge amount and it would take a while and I'm a firm believer in slow and steady wins the race cuz once I lose it I don't ever want to find it again. So here I am working my butt off exercising and eating a calorie deficit and struggling to even get 50 pounds off in a year and I see all these people dropping 100 or more pounds in a year. How do they do it? I'm happy with my 50 pounds I just don't get how others are able to lose so much more in the same amount of time.

There could be a lot of factors at play, very obese people will tend to lose more weight faster because their body has so much to shed. Some of these people could be following extreme diet plans that aren't sustainable and therefore they aren't developing lifelong healthy habits.

I think you need to ask yourself some questions if you aren't achieving the results you desire:

-How are you calculating your calorie intake? Are you using a food scale and weighing/measuring everything?
-How are you calculating your calorie burn?
-Once you lose weight, are you adjusting your calorie goals accordingly? The smaller you get, the fewer calories you can consume.

I think the bottom line here is that you lost 50lbs and that is no small feat! Try not to compare your accomplishments to others too much, everyone is different.
