Hi everyone,

after reading the recommendations from many of you yesterday, I am going to purchase a food scale. Just went to amazon and there are tons listed. Can anyone recommend one or post a link here. Not sure if all food scales are the same.

Thank you!!! :)

My firewall prevents access to Amazon, but here's a tip. Make sure you get one with a TARE function. This will allow you to put weight on the scale with portion A, zero it out, then weigh portion B without having to get separate plates for everything you're eating.

It makes life so much easier.

One other tip: Don't spend too much money. A decent scale doesn't need to be expensive.

The important thing is to get one that's digital with a tare button that can weigh in both grams and ounces. You might also look for something with a high max weight capacity if you plan to weigh out big batches for recipes.

The one I bought from Amazon with a tare function is just great. Title is AmazonBasics Digital Scale with LCD Display. It's got 4.5 stars and will weigh in grams, ounces, pounds, mL. It's at $12.99 right now.

    Here's the one I got: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FF1WJ0I?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage

$15, had it two years, still works beautifully.

I love how it saves me from messing up so many measuring cups at every meal!

Food scale has been a life saver for me. Your weight loss will jump start once you start using it. Tare function is a must because you can weight and prep your food in a bowl keeping your scale clean :) Good luck!

It sets the scale back to zero. So you can put a bowl on the scale and tare it so it reads zero. Then add an ingredient, note the weight, and tare again. Add another ingredient and note the weight, etc.
