Hello my wonderful family of MFP......I need your advise....
I have recently started to drink Green Tea to Boost my energy level. The problem I have is that I do not like HOT Greet tea so I make it Cold Tea....so the Question I have is that is Hot tea more effective than Cold Tea for weight lost journey? Or it does not matter how I take my tea....
Second question I have is that- how many bags of tea per day is sufficient to support my journey...also what brand...I currently use Kirkland (Costco) Brand Green Tea begs.
Any advise would be appreciated.
Thank you all....

Green tea doesn't give me energy and does not effect my weight. I drink 5-6 a day.
Stop drinking it if you don't like it. Drink a different low/zero calorie drink.0 -
If you like the taste of green tea, then drink it. But it doesn't do anything in particular for weight loss.0

It pairs nicely with my asian salad.0

If you're really curious about this, you can look for the studies and read up on it yourself. Most of them haven't shown much. There have been some studies that show a very, very slight increase in metabolism (the oft cited 4% from a 1999 study - or about 50-100 extra calories a day). But that's within the margin of error for most people. It's not a noticeable difference.
If you want to drink green tea, go for it. But there's no real solid information on how much you'd need or what kind of interactions it might have for us to give you. Most of it comes from overhyped media articles or a misunderstanding of the science involved.0 -
There is a small amount of caffeine in green tea which is the "energy boost" some feel. It makes a great no-to-low calorie beverage (depending on what you add to it) which can help you get into a calorie deficit if you drink it instead of higher calorie beverages.
Those are the only advantages to drinking it, except if you enjoy tea.0 -
Thank you so much for all the response....the only reason I am drinking is because it's help to burn More Fat...but if that's not the story than I might just stop drinking it. ...0

I like putting powdered green tea on some vanilla ice cream for a sweet/earthy mix.
As you can tell by this response, that's a matter of taste and I don't use it for weight loss.0 -

From what I've read, it CAN help, but you would need to drink 8 - 10 cups a day. I've been going with a green tea supplement, which is the equivalent of all that tea, just in pill form. Not sure if it helps at all (just started 4 weeks ago), but if it helps even a bit, then I feel it's worth it.
Plus it's good for you, as long as it isn't the gallon jug of sugar-filled stuff....0 -
I drink "HerbaSway HerbaGreen Tea" concentrate in hot or cold water--it helps my appetite and tastes good.
It is equal to 15 cups green tea with one serving and=100mg of antioxidants. I buy mine @ Vitacost online.

Don't bother. They are snake oil. There is nothing inherent in green tea that will help you lose weight or curb your hunger. Save your money.0 -
it helps. I drink it, it works.0

I know this is not what you want to hear, because let's face it a weight loss or fat burning (whatever you want to call it) tea, pill etc is always easier than simply eating less calories. Nothing will jump start weight loss, burn fat, or boost your metabolism except exercise and eating less calories than you burn. Yes, it's effort and hard work. Good luck.0 -
I really appreciate all yours feed back.....I will try for couple of week and if that will not make bit of different than I will just let it go.....0

I love my green tea hot or cold. I think the benefits are all there no matter how you drink it. It is a great coffee substitute for me personally. I did not really like it when I started it was just for the health benefits but now I LOVE it! I drink 2 bags a day same brand as you.0
