Super healthy brownies (no added sugar/sweeteners, milk, or flour!) about 30-50 calories each!
Hey Y'all!
I just wanted to share this really yummy brownie recipe that I just made. It has no added sugar/sweeteners, milk, or flour, but is loaded with protein!!! It is inspired by thebigmansworld, with some additional ingredients which I have added
-1/4 cup almond butter (I used freshly ground)
-2 medium REALLY ripe bananas or 1.5 large REALLY ripe bananas (Add more if you like the taste)
-1 egg white (I used egg white substitute- 3 tbsp)
-1 tsp baking powder
-A pinch of salt
-2 scoops of protein powder (I used Aria women's protein in vanilla, try not to use whey protein due to a weird texture)
-2 tbsp shredded coconut (add more, less, or none if you want!)
-3 tbsp of unsweetened cocoa powder (add more or less if you want!)
-1 tsp melted butter for coating the pan
***If you have a sweet tooth, and do like your stuff sweet, you can add stevia or what ever type of sweetener you like, I personally didn't add any and found that the brownies were still mildly sweet but not brownie sweet if you get what I mean
***I didn't use a blender/mixer/etc, I did this all by hand.
***Calories for one brownie is around 30-50, the total calories are in the recipe are 765, so just divide the number of brownies you get by that number, i got 24 decent sized ones
Servings: 15-24
1) Pre heat the oven to 350
2) Mash the bananas and add in the egg whites, then stir to combine
3) Heat up the almond butter and add in the banana and egg white mixture
4) Add in the protein powder, salt, shredded coconut, baking powder, and cocoa, then just mix until the batter/mix is all one color, the batter will be lumpy and not super smooth FYI!!
5) Cover a small baking tray (thin brownies) or a rectangular cake pan (thick brownies) with aluminum foil, then melt butter and rub it all on the aluminum foil and sides of the pan so the brownies don't stick
6) Add in the batter and spread it out evenly...or do what I did and smack the tray/pan on a hard surface (it works, trust me!), then stick it in the oven, timings depend on the tray/pan thickness. I used a thin small baking tray so it only took me about 10 minutes, so I guess the timing would be 10-20 minutes. KEEP AN EYE ON THESE!!!!
***You can tell these are done when you see a matte surface, and if you put your hand on it, it doesn't sink down a lot

I'd be interested to see if also you could sub the almond butter for peanut flour+water, though not sure if the extra fat helps in making them so good.0

haven't tried it, but this recipe is very flexible so definitely experiment with it! @jacklifts

i tried these today. they're ok. i had to add some water to the batter because it was so dry it wouldn't mix.. i also used peanut butter and no coconut shreds because i'm allergic to almonds, so i just stuck to good ol' peanut butter. mine came out a bit bland. but i guess it differs depending on the brand of protein powder you use and my baking powder might have been old because my brownies came out very flat! lol
def gonna mix and match ingredients and see what i can come up with and like.0 -
yeah these are definitely not full of flavor unless you add tons of banana, its just something that makes me think "hey I'm eating a brownie" though @squishprincess0

Protein powder scoops are all different sizes...what is the listed weight of a scoop on the back of the package and the amount of protein for that weight?0

Thank you! I am definitely trying these soon! I tried a recipe a week ago and it didn't bake up right. This has more ingredients so I think it will work much better. I miss brownies sooooooo much0

Make a full batch, portion, pack and throw in the freezer. Enjoy single serving as required
Its like with the other thread about the cauliflower wings, unless you are a vegetarian then you might as well have the real wings cause it will end up being the same amount of calories with double the work. And for what???
