I think you can use a user ID or an email address

I'm not sure there even is a UID ? I just have my name and email. Need to be 'friends' to participate in challenges as far as I know.

How do u add people? I only know how to add people by using email, but not the id number

If you click on the ID number of the member then it will go to their page where you can then add them to your friends list. Here is mine https://www.fitbit.com/user/4B8MTQ
