"Don't look at it as losing weight, look at it as gaining health."

The more you feel you have to lose, the more its going to take a mental toll on your psyche. Try to look at it as gaining rather than losing. Each pound loss, is another day gained.

Also... "Rome wasn't built in a day..."

Be patient especially if you have a lot to lose. I have been on this journey for six years, lost over 60lbs, gained it back, lost over 60lbs again but still have over 70 to go. Though I have had moments where I gave up for a minute, I never lost hope fully and that hope has kept me going all these years. You just have to have faith and take it day by day.

Everyday is going to be a challenge, but its up to you to overcome it.

Its not going to be easy, but having faith and motivation to succeed will get you to where you want to be.

Honestly, a lot of times it's do I want _____, or do I want to be thin and healthy ? 9/10 times thin/healthy wins for me. I drive past trigger restaurants all the time and PRAISE myself for doing so. Every time I say no to something I love but shouldn't have I tell myself I'm doing the right thing.
And if I eat something I love but shouldn't eat, I don't beat myself up, I just go back to normal and keep going.

For going out, I usually check the menu onlinr if possible before I go somewhere so I can figure out the best choices I can make before I even get there.

Change your mindset on eating. It's about fuel not fat! I don't mind going out to eat any more, but I will find something healthy there, and will check calories before I order. Once you start counting your calories throughout the day, instead of at the end of the day, you will find yourself more knowledgeable about what you choose to fuel with. I love me some Beef, but a nice Chicken Breast may be more in line with calorie intake. Find friends who will motivate you, and post your failures. It's so nice to know that you have people out there cheering you on when you are having a crap day. Best of luck to you on your journey.

I've definitely realised in the last few years that it's a lifestyle change not just eating well for a few months. Bad habits are really hard to a break and I've only recently realised I pig out when I'm stressed! So that's something I need to tackle! Anybody else binge when they are stressed?!? I never recognised it as comfort eating until recently. Big revelation lol
