What's your trick to weight loss? I came up with the "power of 10" system. I wanted to lose 100lbs but that seemed so unobtainable, that's ALOT of pounds! So I told myself that I just needed to lose 10lbs, 10 times and gave myself 10 months. I took a piece of paper and wrote the number 10 on the top and taped it to my bedroom mirror. I only weigh myself once a month. The first month I lost 13lbs, so I crossed the 10 off and wrote a 9 underneath and so on. I'm getting close to crossing the 6 off soon. Counting down from 10 instead of 100, tricked/trained my mind into feeling like this weight loss journey wouldn't be such a looong, miserable one. And it's totally working. I started October 1st and am actually ahead of schedule. Seeing the number 10 instead of a 100, was way easier mentally. I keep my calories at 1200 and workout 30 minutes a day, and so far, so good. I have a 13yr old son, had surgery a few weeks ago with another one coming up in a month and I'm still losing weight every week. It's been all about mind over matter for me. What's working for you guys? If you're struggling, try my method. If you only have 50lbs to lose, write down a 5. You get the idea. My sister has a masters degree in psychology and told me they discussed counting down methods in class, and using them to overcome lots of obstacles. Who knew? Maybe I need to hurry and copywrite my system. Ha, ha

my trick is to figure out how much weight i wanna lose, and calculate it in terms of calories. 10 pounds is 35000 calories. So if i wanna lose ten pounds i need to have a deficit of 35000 calories to hit my goal. I add up my deficit every day until i get to my goal of a 35000 deficit. and then i'm happy, because i achieved my goal, and generally it matches the scale, but even if it doesn't, i don't care because my goal wasn't a scale related goal. i also break down my desired total deficit to a weekly, daily and even hourly goal so i know at any hour if i'm on track for my deficit for the day . i wear a hrm to calculate my burn.0

My head went to a totally different place from your title
But I think that's a great trick
Mine isn't really tricksy ...but I batch cook ..and use the recipe builder...and each weekend edit my recipes dependent on what goes into it

hahahaha! Ditto on the gutter mind... But I batch cook as well!! It helps to just put together a cup or two portions out of whatever I've concocted...0 -
Mini goals are awesome. I can't emphasize that enough with people, especially those who are new to losing weight and/or have a lot to lose.
I did the exact same thing - started with 10 lb increments and just worked with that goal in mind. Now I've gotten low enough that I've had to change it to 5 lb increments (as it takes a lot longer to lose 10 than it did when I started).0 -
The trick is self discipline.0

Yeah. It helps to have little goals along the way to the ultimate goal. I use the app HappyScale, and you can break up your main goal into little goals.
My little trick is not to worry about the future or the past. Just focus on meeting your goals for this ONE DAY. Just do your best meeting your calorie and workout goals for one day at a time.0 -
This is great! *stealing*0
