i live in LA now, but grew up in San Diego my whole life. I'm familiar with a lot of good restaurants and have had all the burritos, tacos, carne asada lol....I want a little change up. I enjoy cheating/ treating at a nice restaurant. Not a fan of a Big Mac or pizza cheat meal unless it's quality pizza lol. I'm going down to visit the family this weekend and gonna use this meal as my refeed? Any suggestions on what you like there?(: I've been to a lot of places, but open to suggestions!(:

My favorite spots for a QUALITY cheat meal would have to be the vine cottage and terra bistro both in la Mesa area, true food kitchen, Tabu sushi, really any of the restaurants along the la jolla strip. Especially The Spot in la jolla! They have everything to satisfy cravings: pizza, pasta, burgers, good salads, fish, ally of appetizers. Basically I enjoy places that have big menus that are not your typical Cheesecake Factory or BJ's haha. But if I find a place with some good sweet potato fries, a quality kale Caesar salad, and maybe a burger.....you found my quality cheat!

Phil's BBQ is super popular among people I know but I've never been.

How do you feel about beer? Both Stone Brewing and Ballast Point have locations that provide not only yummy beer but also really yummy food.

Honestly, I'd still recommend both places. Really good food and iirc, there's nonalcoholic options as well. :)

its pretty mediocre bbq for having to stand outside for an hour to get it... but I have had a lot of BBQ in texas so I might be biased.

    The Final decision:
True food kitchen! Appetizers consisted of an avocado kale dip, hummus, and a pizza! And then I got a big mixed vegetable salad and a bison burger w/ sweet potato hash and a small kale salad. Keep in mind I ate most of the appetizers and some of my moms salmon and sisters dish lol. 43vsqvjrkhf6.jpg

Also, the pizza was a roasted butternut squash pizza w/ arugula and smoked mozzarella :) Not even full either lol, I swear my stomach is a black hole/ endless pit!
