Are you weaning quickly or did you quit all at once? Were you eating extra calories for breastfeeding before or not?
I've been slowly decreasing how often I nurse and I decrease my calories a little bit every time I drop a nursing session. I haven't had any problems so far but I still nurse about 3 times a day.0 -
I still nurse about that much and I wasn't at all I feel if I decrease my calories it won't be healthy for me0

How much weight have you gained? And how many calories are you eating per day?0

Hi can I jump in on this one? Just feeling a bit reassured to hear of someone in the same boat, unfortunately I don't know what to do about it either! I stopped breastfeeding two months ago and I've put on 12 lbs since! My weight was dropping or at worst stable before but now I feel like it's just shooting up! I've not been following a super strict diet but I don't feel like I've been too unhealthy, plus I'm out walking with the buggy all the time and I'm doing HIIT in the evenings too. I'm pretty worried about how to get things back under control!0

My weight tends to dip in the first 6 months post partum and then climb again once solids are introduced. My youngest is 20 months and my cycles recently returned. Since they have been back I've been able to loose weight much more easily. But the bit between solids starting and cycles returning I've gained loads, at least 14lbs. I've followed similar pattern after all my babies..... though in the past I've just ended up pregnant again before really loosing the weight.

It's freakin me out. I'm working out and eating healthy but still "hello love handles and thighs" grrrrr I didn't even gain that much weight during pregnancy ( started at 140 lbs at the end 142lbs) and I weight my lowest after birth and during breast feeding around 115lbs I'm going insane0

Are you weighing and measuring your food? Nursing can burn an extra 500cals a day depending on how much your lo is nursing. If you were eating jut enough to maintain, but not gain whule nursing....then reduce your nursing (reducing your calorie burn) but dont decrease your food intake....you will gain.
Measure and weigh all your foods. Log accurately. Track your weight and see what it does over the next 2-3 weeks while you determine your current intake (if you havent already been weighing and logging). Then consider adjusting your intake or increasing your exercise.0
