Apps verified stats wrong?

I had some corn flakes for breakfast. Scanned the barcode, got the verified check and then realized the sugars are 30 grams off from the package! Who do I trust? How does the app verify the facts?

Trust the package. The formula could have changed, it could be an entry from another county, it could just be wrong... too many variables to know.0
