I'm a 66 year young woman who in the past lost 52 lbs on my own and kept it off until about 2 years ago, I gained 10 back, which was actually my goal weight. Then I quit smoking 10 months ago and about 12 lbs has been added. I know 12-15 lbs may not seem like a lot of weight to lose, but my clothes are so tight and I really can't afford all new ones.
We are traveling in May and I really would like to see at least 10 lbs gone. For a week now I have been doing what I did 6 years ago, but I am finding it much harder now.
Glad to have found this site.

Well 1st of all congratulations 66 years young...i want to be doing that and more at your age... Keep it up!!! Well.. You are a female..your body is what? Naturally 80% water or fat..i forget. But not only that...(whatever the correct fact is) you're 66...so.. As WE get older our metabolism slows faster than our age... So with both key factors in mind...IF[/b..]IF you can...you have to do more.. . I know i know... I hung up my gloves 6 years ago after my major car accident.. I'm running with a torn disc in my lower lumbar ..and after running down a thief..i ret-tore my right meniscus.. So... We can't do ALL the same things anymore... We have to find alternatives and number 1...NOT starve ourselves.. That is a major problem amongst females in the WORLD.. I did a report on it while in college.. Most women feel they should not eat..well..that's a contribution to the high percentage of fat..cause your body thinks you're trying ro kill yourself and it is storing that fat just in case of the next time you miss a meal but it becomes repetitious cause you noticed a couple of lbs drop...(hint: that was water weight and muscle) please ensure you are snacking on something every 3-4 hours.. Add an additional rep or calorie burning method in there and stay ofd the scale... Weigh yourself once a week.. Lower your calorie intake and lower your carb intake for a month...that will get you there faster.. But go back to your normal carb intake cause they are our energy source.. And most important..drink and eat your weight in grams of Protein..cause builds muscle and muscle helps burn away the fat...
Good luck...and keep it going0 -
Thank you mOs. I appreciate you responding to me. One question. "drink and eat your weight in grams of Protein" that seems like a very hard thing to do. I do drink a lot of water now.0
