Recovering from an Eating Disorder

For a long time, I have struggled with eating disorders. I used to binge eat, before I began eating barely anything and working out, then I moved on to laxatives and even tried purging. Over the course of my struggle with my self image, one thing has remained the same. No matter how small I got, I wanted to be smaller. I've recently decided to throw all of this out the window. Instead of striving to be smaller, I'm striving to be healthier. I'm going to take care of myself, emotionally and physically. My goal is not to lose weight, but to feel better. I guess I want people on this app to know if they feel similar, they can talk to someone who knows exactly what they are going through.

Talk to a therapist. A mission to eat healthy can trigger the same problems as a mission to lose weight. If you do not have a therapist, find one. You need real life support. Good luck.0

I am struggeling with the same thing. I have help from a therapist, but without having experienced it, they can't fully understand how we struggle in our daily life. I also suggest getting a therapist, but do think it's great to have a supportgroup outside the therapist also. It's all about being accountable to someone.0
