Hi all, I'm Caron. I'm quite tall, so carry my weight well but I'm 15st 7lb and in size 20 clothes. I've tried the fast diet which was a complete waste of time for me. I'm now calorie counting and monitoring portion sizes carefully. I have a type 1 diabetic daughter, so I'm used to carb counting which helps.
I'm from the UK but welcome friends from all over. Please add me and we can motivate each other x

I have also been trying to lose weight, only I haven't been failing, except when it comes to losing it from places I want to (cause you can't exactly just lose weight from the places you want to). I posted this yesterday on my page... I believe you may benefit from it a bit...
When thinking about your goals, do you keep a positive attitude? Ex. I want to be healthy, lower my fat %, eat mindfully, have more energy, enjoy life without the struggle rather than "I want to lose weight"... see when you are positive you become aware of the little, yet extremely important, NSVs but when you don't the number of the scale holds all the value/the power. As a weight lifter, I know that I can go from a size 12 to a 5 with only 10 lbs of difference from my starting weight. Why? cuz muscle is more condense, occupies less space than body fat - eating mindfully to me doesn't mean diet it means serving size or 1/2 of what's on my plate at the restaurant - when mindfully eating and working towards the lower body fat the burst of energy is undeniably presence (exercise should never feel as a task but the road to achieve the positive goals) - the struggle mentioned is going up 5 flights of stairs without feeling you gonna die, moving furniture n boxes at home with ease, playing tag with kids and keeping up, etc.... food for though, when your goals are based on clear n concise reasons, taking the necesary actions to reach them is that much easier...

Hi always, thanks for that, it's really motivating. The main reason I want to lose weight is because my body is feeling it. My joints ache and I don't trust my knees. I'm feeling much fitter after doing the fast diet for 4 weeks but I lost no weight. I'm hoping calorie counting is the way to go x0

Don't miss the exercise benefits too. I have had knee surgery 4 times, and currently take Turmeric and Glucosamine and Chondroitin to help, but I feel so much better after pushing through a 30 minute workout. I have a quick 10 minute ab video I do on my off day, and my knees are getting stronger on my elliptical. First time for everything in my life, and I've not done any form of serious exercise since I graduated high school 25 years ago. I'm feeling better than I have in years.0

Hello I am new to MFP, started logging my food last week. I have targeted my over-eating habits to accidental daytime starvation ones (I just wasn't consuming adequate breakfast / lunch calories). I'm finding it easier to avoid evening chocolate binges since I generally balanced my calorie intake! I have found that slimming world recipes generally taste very good and are a lower calorie way to cook filling (and generously portioned) foods. Good luck with your journey! I think the main thing is to stick with it.0
