Going to lunch with my adult daughter. We are going to the #1 rated restaurant in a city over an hour away. Just finished my first week with MFP and did great. Do I order what I want or watch my calories? What would you do?

Order within reason. Treat yourself, but watch it. Show your daughter you are making healthier choices and are committed to doing well on this and becoming a better you. I would, personally, go for a meal that includes meat and vegetables and, if still hungry, ask for a little fruit for dessert. Skip the bread basket.
Most importantly, keep things in perspective. This is about having a good time with your daughter, socialization, rather than eating at the best place in town. Who you eat with is more important than what you eat.

For an experience like that I'd order what I wanted within reason. If it's too terribly high in calories I'd ask for a half portion or if that makes you uncomfortable I'd only eat half the portion.

This is about a lifestyle change not a quick fix. I'm sure there will be times in your life moving forward when you want a special day out treat. IMO it's best to just have it the best way you can and then move forward.

There's all kinds of ways to make it up if you feel the need. You could manually cut an extra 100 calories from your daily deficit over the next week, do extra exercise this week, or you could just thoroughly enjoy it and move forward tomorrow as a new day.

You can always eat half and save the other half for tomorrow.

Whenever I go to a Fancy/Really Good Restaurant, I like to order small plates and share them with my friend. That way I get to taste a bunch of different flavors, and often end up eating less than if I'd ordered one big entree. That's way more (physically, emotionally) satisfying - plus you really get to try what the restaurant has to offer.

You can also look up the restaurant online and see if they're posting nutrition info. That way, you can decide what you want before you go, which makes it easier to stay where you should be calorie-wise. Even if they don't, it's possible to make some guesses based on their menu, which will help as well.

Overall, I wouldn't stress it too much. Enjoy your time with your daughter first and foremost instead of spending the time worrying about calories. ^_^

If it's for a special meal/event, I would just eat what I wanted (within reason - don't stuff yourself), log it, and move on. If it's just a regular meal and happens to be at a nice restaurant, I'd stay within my calorie limits.
