I am leaving my 20+ year career one year from today. I have decided to become a Personal Trainer. I need some flexibility in my schedule due to my 5 year old starting school this year and have a strong (prior) fitness background. I used to teach Step Aerobics many moons ago and was never certified, but feel that I have the love for fitness and background to make a go of it. Any successful trainers out there have any advice for me as far as certifications, good websites to gather the latest information, etc?

There's online programs you can take but if you want to be really knowledgeable about how the body reacts to stimuli then work on a degree in Kiniesiology and / or Physiology.

I have a Biology Degree and have taken A&P. I know that being successful means becoming as educated as possible. I am more interested in field advice versus educational advice. Such as great sources for workouts, music, exercise libraries, equipment, etc....

It's cool that you have that knowledge base already. I've seen various online programs, probably just Google Physical Trainer program or something and see what you get. There are banner ads for them on this site from time-to-time.
