Any suggestions?

Very limited to exercise due to a 3 car accident which was a result of having shoulder surgery (torn in 4 areas) and my back being unaligned. I used to walk 2 miles twice a day every day, but since the accident in October 2015 a simple walk to the driveway is painful. My recovery process will take approximately 6-8 months, therefore, I have a long ways to go. I've been out of work for 2 months now, I do Physical Therapy 3 times a week, and recently Aqua Therapy twice a week. Any other suggestions for light exercises, and has anyone experienced having to START ALL OVER again? I'm very frustrated because my somewhat active lifestyle has changed to pain and suffering because of someone's negligence. I just want to fight back, and get healthy again.

Sorry about your situation. It's best to get advice from your PT and/or doctors - they know your medical situation and are qualified to give you advice. Following the wrong advice can make things worse.

By the way, if you're trying to lose weight, simply reduce calories. No exercise is required for weight loss. :+1:

Thank you for the great advice. I have spoken to my doctors amd they say to continue PT and give it time. Recovery will take about 6-8 months, and you're right.... exercise might make it worse. Doctors also suggested Aqua Therapy, and swimming. I have also set small goals like losing 1.5 lbs per week, and yes definitely counting calories. I have no time limit on my weight loss since I won't be going back to work anytime soon. My focus is now to heal, get better, amd get stronger so I can get back to my normal routine. Have a great day!
