A little confused about something...

Hopefully I can state this clearly. I'll try to avoid being overly wordy and just state a simple question...

To lose the two pounds per week I'm aiming for , am I supposed to eat up to my goal calories allotted by MFP? Or do I need to aim for eating 1000 less than my goal, which would be 1400 (2400-1000)?

Eat what it tells you to eat if you use guided set-up. If you exercise, add that too and it will adjust your calories. works like a charm! g0od luck.

MFP has already deducted 1000 calories to create your deficit. 2400 is what you should be eating.

You aim to NET your goal on MFP.

This means no exercise 2400 calories should result in 2 lb per week loss (providing accurate profile set up and food logging) and 2400 + exercise burns will also result in 2lbs per week loss. Basically MFP is saying based on your stats and activity level selection you would maintain your current weight at 3400 calories without exercise.

eat what mfp tells you to (assuming you had it set to a 2 lb/ week loss) and eat back roughly half your exercise calories and adjust as needed.

Eat to your goal. MFP already factors in your deficit for you.

It's definitely a good thing to find you're able to eat more than you thought you could while continuing to lose weight! Congratulations!
