Hi!
I'm a 30 year old qualified radiographer but have been unable to work since 2011 due to.illness and repeated hospital admissions.
I am now currently wheelchair/bed bound and so am unable to exercise properly. I am also on high dose steroids which makes it more difficult to lose weight.
I'm looking to chat with other disabled people that find it difficult to lose weight due to medication/immobility and what diet/lifestyle plans they have tried.
I tried slimming world and did find it good but find you need to be cooking from scratch ideally and this doesn't fit into my daily routine as i have to have a packed lunch which would be syned on SW so found WW better for me. I'm looking into starting WW again online as I'm unable to get to the meetings!
Look forward to hearing from like minded dieters!
Xx

Hello! :-) I also am physically disabled. I have ehlers danlos syndrome, a connective tissue disorder. Pretty much, my joints don't stay in place, and my digestion is really bad. I currently use a cane for short distance, walker for longer, and I have an electric scooter for even longer distances. I myself, rarely leave the bedroom. I'm going on 3 years having this app, and it's been very hard to loose weight. I have to stay low in weight to protect my joints. I've gone to a nutrition doctor before, but the "diet" she put me on made me gain even more weight. I've tried vitamins, diet food...drinks. but only the last 2 months I've actually lost weight. I go on these food obsessions....and my current thing right now is seafood. For some reason, I can't get enough of it. And it's helped me loose ten pounds. It also brought my calories down, without me feeling hungry. Hopefully it will be this way when my kick wears off.0

Hello,
I'm also disabled & use a wheelchair fulltime. I'm also looking for support as I embark on this long journey ahead.0
