Hey everyone,
I was just wondering if any of you were willing to share some tips and tricks on how to keep your energy levels up?
This is something I've always struggled with. I feel like I'm just very sluggish a lot of the time.

It is hard to say why without a few stats.
What is your height and weight?
What is your weekly loss goal set to?
How many calories are you consuming?
There could be hundreds of reasons that someone may feel sluggish, but on here, it typically is because someone has too agressive of a goal and is not eating enough because of that.0 -
I'm 5'1 and 160lb on 1350 cal a day with no exercise.0

Exericse gives me energy. I know that sounds weird but especially walking and listening to music.

Are you taking a multi-vitamin, I know mine helps me.0

I used to be like this. I used to struggle to wake up in the morning and after I went to work I'd just lie in bed the rest of the day. When I decided to make a change, I actually went all in and most people burn out but I was really determined so I just didn't stop. However, I'd say what made it stick for me was making small changes.
Start by walking for a half hour in your neighborhood a few times per week. Listen to music for energy while you're doing it as well. After a while, you may notice that you look forward to doing it. If that's not your thing, then dance around your room for 30 minutes instead. Any activity you like, as long as it gets you moving. I love to exercise, but once in a while I feel a tad sluggish and have to actually start before I get into it. Sometimes that's what it takes to get more energy in the end.0 -
Maybe a doc appointment to check your Vitamin D, iron and B-Vitamin levels? I feel like I'm in a coma when they're low. Sleep is important, too.
@synacious has a great point--music gets me going, too! I have about 150 exercise playlists right now (for different things) and usually make a couple new ones each week. Get some good tunes. I get my extra steps in at night walking around my apartment complex. One loop = 1000 steps. I don't have TV, so I buy shows from iTunes and I can only watch them while walking. No couch potato for me!0 -
Has this feeling started since you began your weight loss efforts or was it going on before that?
Where are your calories coming from? Are you eating plenty of protein, vegetables and fruits?
How much sleep do you get? Do you wake up refreshed and get sluggish later?
What is your stress level like?
Have you seen a doctor and mentioned your sluggishness and ruled out a health problem?

This was an issue even before I was losing weight. For the most part I'm eating pretty well I think! On a regular day I eat things like eggs, spinach, cabbage, chicken, turkey, peppers, potatoes, salad... I try to balance my meals and make sure I'm getting all my nutrients, however the hardest one to hit is protein.
On 1350 cal I'm doing 40carb/30fat/30pro
As far as exercise goes I'm a student and tend to do quite a bit of walking around campus. I don't really have much more time to devote to exercise until may.0 -
I would talk to your doctor about it. You could be anemic. If you have low iron it will make you tired. I have b-12 anemia and have to take monthly injections for it. I'm still tired some but it helps a lot.0
