Losing no weight, what am I doing wrong?

Hi there, I started 6 weeks ago with my fitness pal and working out 6 days a week, 4x lifting weights, 2x running. I haven't lost any weight. But eat just chicken rice and vegetables. What am I doing wrong?

In order to lose weight, you need to eat fewer calories than your body uses. Even if all you eat are healthy foods, you won't lose weight if you eat an excess of calories.

Maybe you are eating more than you think? Do you use a food scale? How do you calculate your calorie burns?0

Are you measuring all of your food to make sure you stay under the MFP recommended daily calorie intake? Not tracking all of your calories is pretty much the only thing it could be.0

My journey took a total turn when I bought a food scale. Honestly you don't need anything fancy at all! Good luck!!!
I reccomend weighing all solids in grams and liquids in cups and spoons.
Always weigh raw when possible and search the data base for the usda item.

Most likely eating too much. Weight loss is more about how much you're eating. You can still gain weight eating chicken and vegetable especially if you're guesstimating your portion sizes.0

I find it hard to believe that the only thing you are eating is chicken and rice all day everyday.0

I was never able to lose weight my entire life until I bought a good food scale and started to religiously weigh and record my food! Once you get into the habit, it takes very little time. One especially useful tool is the ability to create a new recipe, which allows you to very accurately gauge how many calories you are consuming when you cook at home (make sure you include any oils, butter etc in your calorie count). I also found it very helpful to up my protein intake, which curbed my late night hunger pangs. I now aim for 30% of calories from protein, 30% from healthy fats, and 40% from carbohydrates. And don't overdo the weight lifting....a recent New York Times article talked about how it takes our body 24-48 hours to recover from the micro trauma our muscles experience after a strenuous weight lifting session. Um....you know you can eat other things besides chicken, rice and vegetables, right? But if that's what you like to do, go for it! The question is: how much chicken, rice and vegetables? Are you weighing all of your food on a food scale and logging everything?0
