Garmin Connect, Strava, and MyFitnessPal

I wear a Garmin Vivosmart all the time. I use it to track steps all day long.

I have a Garmin Forerunner 10 GPS watch. I use it to track my runs and cycling. I upload data from my watch to Garmin Connect and then it ships it over to Strava. Strava I like for their features more than I like the Garmin Connect site.

I use Myfitnesspal to track my food and weight.

That being said, when I sync my Garmin Forerunner to connect, it automatically updates my runs and cycling to myfitnesspal. Then, It pushes it to Strava and Strava then updates my fitnesspal as well. I DO NOT want Garmin Connect to put up my runs and rides, so I go in and delete them.

Is there any way to keep Garmin counting my steps, but not syncing my runs and use just Strava to track my runs?

Thoughts?

Matt

Why not just set the default privacy on Connect to 'Only Me' instead of deleting the activities?

Disconnect Garmin Connect from MyFitnessPal. Still continue to sync your Forerunner to Garmin Connect. Garmin Connect will still sync with Strava and then Strava will update your MyFitnessPal. Disconnect Garmin Connect in the Apps section on the MyFitnessPal Website.

I have the same issue, on a 64 mile ride today Strava says I burnt 1898 Kcal and Garmin connect says over 3000kcal. I only want to use Strava for Runs and Rides but I use a vivosmart to track steps. Is there really no work around other than to delete the duplicate activity?
