Reason I stay fit? Cosplaying! Photos inside

When I cosplay, I like to develop and train my body how I think the character would be. For instance, I learned the bo staff because Robin is my favorite character, but I also want to do a female Darth Maul and female Deathstroke.
This is the cosplay I've been working on. It's Sasha, aka Potato Girl, from Attack on Titan. For this training, I've been working a lot on my agility, speed, and vertical Plyo.
I'm only wearing 70% of the vertical gear, the jacket and boots. I was checking how the gear hung since I've been working on it. So I don't have my wig, cloak, connections, or outfit.

Wow, I know nothing about Cosplay but nice going! Lol - Looking good0

You look so good! Your props make me want to start a new cosplay for myself.0

Interesting choosing Sasha over Mikasa. Great work though! More girls should follow this. If you take your cosplay seriously and really want to pull off the part, I think keeping fit is just as important as any piece of your costume for an action girl.
EDIT: Cosplaying as Predator is something I plan to do when I do eventually reach my goal. I know it's a huge undertaking of a costume though0 -

I'm not the gentlest when making props, and the fact that this is made from mostly wood and foam, I keep breaking things. Pretty soon every piece will be covered in glue. The sword I'm holding in the photo is actually missing it's trigger cause I pulled it off, and the other one I ripped the knob off the end of the handle. I should really try to be more dainty.0 -

I was originally going to cosplay as Mikasa, but decided on Sasha after I finished reading the manga. I wanted to carry a giant potato around the convention for comedic purposes.
The nice thing about this cosplay is I can switch characters by changing the wig, shirt and accessories. Except for Annie since her jacket would have the military police emblem instead of the survey corps emblem.0 -
You are a person after my own heart, haha!
My main reason to get fit was cosplay just because I like to be as close to the character as I possibly can. I know it's not necessarily necessary but still there's always that satisfaction when you've nailed your character.0 -
My DD is now wanting to do more COSPLAY since I've introduced her to Comic Con and she saw all the coolest dress ups. I made a Raven costume for her this last Halloween. She didn't put on make up here, but did Halloween day.

This has actually led me into taking up sword fighting. It's a nice way to try out different activities and find what makes you feel good. I've also done archery because of Link from Zelda.0 -

Amazing! I started cosplaying 4 years ago when I went to Wizard World in Columbus. It was my first HUGE convention and we had to go when the cosplay contest was because that's when Stan Lee was there. After seeing all the cosplays and taking tons of pictures, I bought fabric to make a female Riddler cosplay. Loved it.0 -

Careful. Halloween is a gateway drug.

Oh I'm terrible with props. I avoid them for the most part unless it's something I can glue the heck out of. I think the last one I made ended up in the trash post con since it was falling apart in three or four places.0 -

Props are my favorite part. I made a cane for my Riddler costume by drilling holes in chess pieces and inserting a rod down ththe center. Then had the top piece as a question mark cut from wood and then painted.
The downside is the cost and the time it takes to create some props. I don't like using foam because of how easily it breaks, but it's the b st thing when you need something light and cut into a certain shape.

Oh wow, this is awesome! One of my reasons for wanting to lose weight and get into shape is to hopefully cosplay one day, too. Lightning and Mara Sov are at the top of my list0

When I get in the mood for a new cosplay, I like to develop a workout routine based off that character. It keeps me focused everytime I feel sluggish during a workout and reminds me to push hard to become something else.0 -

It really is fun. The hardest part is the long drive to conventions. Sometimes I can't flop around in the passenger seat easily like I do when I'm in street clothes.0 -
Wow...everyone looks amazing!... Looking good helps with our self esteem, our aspirations and our sex drives too...lol0

Ah nice! I didn't know there were any cosplay girls on here--I cosplay as Michiru Kaioh/Sailor Neptune0

Sailor Moon is what originally got me into animes when I was about 10 years old. Used to watch that everyday after school on Toonami.0 -
I'm not new to MyFitnessPal or to trying to lose weight, but I have a new inspiration to try harder. My Hubby and I got tickets to the International Comic-Con in San Diego. I cosplay and am terrified to see all those skinny California Cosplayers. I'm trying to lose 30-50 lbs by July 20. The photo is my cosplay from Emerald City Comicon 2015.

Ahah, me too! It's still one of my favorites, obviously, though I've kicked around the idea of doing either Mami or Kyouko from Madoka Magica.0 -
If I ever did cosplay, I would totally do Sasha. Great job!
