Hello everyone! I'm Emilie and I just joined today. So I'm 34 and I'm based in Bristol, UK. I have a busy job and have to travel quite a bit for work. I have increasingly been disappointed with the weight watchers offering (especially their website and iPhone app) so I decided to give this a go. I love that it uses the pooled data of all the users on here - it makes the food database so much more powerful!!
I love going to the gym (especially spin) and have a personal trainer. I also try to go to Bikram yoga once a week.
Looking forward to meeting some new people on here and being successful in my quest for fitness!!!

I'm new too! Good luck to you. This is really the first time I've tried to track my calories/exercise. I'm sure with travelling the food part is hard to manage-- at least on this side of the pond our portion sizes are out of control.0

Welcome to MFP.
I hope it helps you on your weightloss journey. It can be tough at times, but stick with it. )0 -
I have to tell you, I had such a hard time with Weight Watchers. I went with my sister and the whole time they were talking about food and foods that they wish they could eat, etc. After leaving the meeting, I was soooo hungry and just wanted to stop at any fast food restaurant that came in sight. Every time I would attend the meetings would be the same thing, hungry afterwards. So, it didn't work for me. What I like about this site is that people are really encouraging, challenging and kick you in the butt when you need it most. I love it here and its a lot of fun to chat and find people that have a lot in common with you. Nice to have you here! You can add me if you want.0

Hi Emilie
I'm Tina, I'm 28 and in Crawley, UK. I've lost 2 stone since the New Year (my ticker only says 24 lbs but I started losing weight before I joined MFP!). When I was growing up I was always really skinny but let myself get to a size 16 through bad diet and no exercise before really and truly trying to lose weight. You will probably hear this a lot from the people on here, but MFP is the only thing that has worked for me - I find physically having to count everything that goes in my mouth is the only way I can keep track of it, and it really makes me think.
I've got an office job so sit on my bum all day doing nothing, and due to a heart condition can't exercise as much as I'd like to, but I realised I was leaning on that a bit too much as an excuse and now I do try to go swimming twice a week, which has really made a difference.
Good luck with it!

Congrats on starting 'fresh' today! I just joined today as well, and was encouraged to try this website from fellow WW members! The new points system wasn't working for me, and financially I couldn't keep paying to track on-line. This is SO exciting!!!
Good luck on your journey!! And congrats again!0 -
Welcome and good luck! I had been losing weight very slowly for about 3 years and wanted to kick it up a notch so started to count my calories and writing them down daily in a book - then found MFP while looking for an app that showed calories for different foods. It's awesome and I love it - have lost 51lbs since joining in July last year and I am just so grateful to the creators of the site and all the wonderful people on here!0

Wow I totally wasn't expecting so many people to say hello!!!! Hello to all of you and please friend me if you want to keep up to date with my progress (and it WILL be progress this time!!). I think the reason other plans didn't work for me is that when I am exercising I go really hardcore. You really have to eat more if that's the case and I'm not sure other plans properly took that into account. That said, I know I can really fall into a rut and I need to be really consistent in applying my healthy eating and exercise plans.
Looking forward to hearing from you guys and seeing some success!!0
