Weight gain after stopping drinking

Hi there I stopped drinking in January and not had a drop since but I have gained weight!!! I would easily drink a bottle of wine a night which is a lot of calories so in effect I should loose weight. I haven't increased my food intake and work very hard each day working with horses and my steps are 15 to 22 thousand each day. I eat 3 meals a day don't snack all home cooked I don't drink any sort of fizzy drinks. Any ideas or tips or is it a case of I will have to starve myself to loose the weight? I'm 47 5'8" and 12 stone!!! Thanks in advance.

Depends if you replaced alcohol with food then no stopping it won't make you lose weight. What is your calorie goal? How much do you have to lose? Are you weighing and tracking food correctly? x0

Thanks for the reply. I haven't replaced food for wine I have dropped my intake of food. My Fitbit says I'm burning about 2500 a day and in no shape or form I'm I eating that a day. I try to stay around 1800 a day as I work very hard mucking 10 horses and riding up to 5 horses a day. I would I have thought dropping 600 calories a day in booze would have seen a difference in the scales. I want to be 11 stone.0

Be sure to count correctly, and count EVERYTHING. You are making up for the calories somehow....0
