Does anyone else have a problem with losing and then gaining some back and then staying the same for a long time before losing again. Could the hot weather cause weight to fluctuate due to water weight and retention. I have been pretty strict on my diet and exercise, tried upping calories, lowering calories, changing up exercise routines and so far nothing has changed. If anything I see the scale go up. Tomorrow is weigh in day and I really hate to record a gain, especially a 4 or 5 pounder......This weight is driving me CRAZY!!!!

Are you talking about a period of days or a period of weeks. I might suggest using MFP recommendations as-is and stepping away from the scale for a significant period of time (say a month). Maybe you are too focused on the number on the scale instead of your overall health/fitness?

This is about a three week problem so far. I want to be healthy, but when you are doing things right and nothing works what do you try next.
  • I've had the same problem! The first 2 weeks I lost 8 pounds & after that the scale would go up & down for the past 3 weeks. Have you tried measuring yourself? I started doing this & found I have lost inches even though the scale hasn't moved but I do understand how it's frustrating. When you exercise are you eating back your calories so you net at least 1200? & are you drinking enough water?

Are you doing any strength training? I do and my scale has slowed down but inches are coming off.

Yup, you're not alone. It's perfectly normal and yes it sucks big time. But just keep doing what you're supposed to be doing, keep learning how to live that healthy lifestyle and remember this is a journey, with bumps in the road. Sometimes I think it is God's way of testing our perserverance. Show your strength!
