Can Caffeine Free Tea be considered a good substitute for wa

This may seem like a silly question to the more body/nutrition savvy of you out there! But I'm not a big water fan and am a big tea fan! I generally only drink 2 cups of caffeinated tea maximum a day, and the rest of the day I drink decaff. Can anyone tell me if this could count towards my water intake for the day?
I do take milk in my tea - a dash of Skimmed milk, so I'm guessing since it's not pure water if probably isn't a good sub - but please let me know if this can be at least of some value towards me intake!!!
Seriously, I need me tea =/

I am a huge tea drinker too! I count all of it as water but also drink a bunch of water too. Try adding lemon, cucumber or something else to plain water and see if that works for you.0

I really like tea also. I would also count it as my water because it doesn't have caffeine--my trouble is that I REALLY like sweet tea sooooo I had to go cold turkey & haven't had any since March--sometimes I'll try it with artificial sweetners, but I'm trying to stay away from those!! They are bad news! Good Luck!!

If I remember correctly black tea will actually dehydrate you a bit so you would need to drink more water to balance the black tea intake... I drink a lot of decaf green with a touch of agave nectar0

have you tried agave nectar it is delicious in tea and low glycemic so it doesnt spike your blood sugar...0

It can be water if its Decaf, Non Carbonated and No Sugar. So lots of things do qualify for water, but I do always try to get most of it in as water 5 -6 cups and maybe 2 cups of something else.0

A certified personal trainer told me that if you add a packet to it or make it into tea or coffee, its not the same. He suggests one drink 8 8 ounce glasses of ICE water each day. If you drink something else, drink an equal amount of water to make up for it. I am working my way up to 8, it is challenging for me.0

There are many different studies saying either it is ok or it isn't, I personal believe its ok to add tea with or without caffeine as water intake... If I were you for the best answer ask someone that's truly qualified such as a dietician(sp?).0
