Forgive my ignorance but what would these cup measurements be in the UK?

What would 0.2 cup of strawberries or grapes be for example? Or 0.3 cup?

if you were to buy a measuring cup (238 or 240 ml) then you could use that, but it's pretty imprecise.

http://nutritiondata.self.com/facts/fruits-and-fruit-juices/2064/2 says a cup of strawberries is about 144g so 0.2 is 29g or an ounce

Can you use grams? Where are you getting those measurements?

Here's a cup to liter conversion: http://www.metric-conversions.org/volume/cups-to-liters.htm, but both are really for liquids. How many strawberries fit in a cup depend on how you cut them. Plus, what a pain!

How did you work out the grams?

Use the USDA National Nutrient Database, which gives the gram-equivalents for various serving sizes.

    https://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/foods/show/2385

I would usually say search for "strawberries raw" and use the MFP-entered food item, which was based on the USDA information and contained all of the serving sizes listed on the USDA website, but MFP messed up the Food Database when they opted to roll out the Verified Foods option, and now that useful food item for "Strawberries - Raw" is gone.

@Alex @Nova If I create a Case to correct the entry, could you elevate this so it actually gets fixed? If not, I feel I would just be wasting my time.

The system entry for "bananas, raw" is also now gone, as are many others - maybe we can have a thread for this in Forum Feedback.

Yes, this has been an ongoing problem for me too, and the bananas one seems to consistently be replaced and vanish again. I now have all sorts of dumb user entered USDA entries in my recents when I could have the old MFP entered ones.

"Honey" disappeared for a while and is back in triplicate:

How did you work out the grams?

If you drop down the serving size thing you'll see options other than 100g that includes "cups" (spit) and the gram equivalent is next to the cups.

Yes, please ping me with a case number once you've submitted it, and I'll make sure it gets seen.

Just get a kitchen scale and weigh stuff. Far more accurate than cups too.

According to a magnet on my fridge...
    1 cup =
    8 fluid Oz
    16 tbsp
    48 tsp
    237 ml

I've got a set of cup measures. I think I bought them in Asda but it was a long time ago and they were very cheap. I think kitchen ware shops sell them.

Cups are a volume measure equaling 240ml in the US and 250ml in Canada. They should NOT be used to measure grapes, strawberries or any other solid. They are a liquid measure. The whole cups for solids things here in North America makes no sense to me. Nutrition labels for solids include the gram amounts, and that is what should be used. If you are using a database entry with Cups, try to find one with grams. If they are listed 1Cup/100grams, a per gram amount should be available for that entry among the options.

Don't bother with cups, get yourself a scale and use entries in grammes.

When you search your foods, add "grams" at the end. For example, search "strawberries grams"
