Looking for kind words and support

I have lost 88 pounds, but I seem to just be stuck. For the last few months its like ill do well..lose weght..and then binge for a few days and gain weight back and then the cycle starts again. I cant seem to get any lower because of this cycle.

Originally i had lost 102 pounds but then gained around 40 back because of surgery and bad eating habits.

I started at 272 and i felt horrible about myself physically and mentally, but i still feel horrible physically and mentally. I am a slave to the scale and it doesnt matter how many times i tell myself i am more than just a number on a scale, i still weigh myself everyday because i have delusionally made myself believe i can see the difference in a one pound gain or loss. Its no way to live. Its made me completely miserable but its such a hard habit to break.

I dont know, i guess i just need to hear some kind words right now.

You can do this. Log everyday, good or bad. Do this everyday and see iif you can make small changes. Hugs

Set this as your background. It'll be a constant reminder that YOU CAN do this. Just believe in yourself and don't knock yourself down if you mess up. It's okay!

Hang in there. One day at a time. This isn't a diet. It's a life change in how you eat and your relationship with food. Work on staying in your calorie count and if you slip (or crash) over, start over the next day. It takes awhile to get back into the habit. You know how to do this, you just need to recommit to your goals.

Wow. 88 pounds is an amazing accomplishment. Especially having fallen off the horse and gained back weight - so many people would have given up. It took me 5 years to come back to MFP because I gained 20 pounds and just gave up. For you to get back on the horse and achieve that loss shows your remarkable commitment.

@fiddletime is absolutely right and her advice is so good. You are creating a new habit. You are moving out of "diet" mentality, and you have to trust that you will not always obsess about the number on the scale. For now, just see what the number is and breathe.

We all fall off,I know I do, but don't down yourself. Take a deep and jump back on. You've gotten this far with reducing your weight, you can keep doing it. I'm a scale kinda girl too but sometimes you just gotta walk around and leave it alone for a week :)
