Does it help to set yourself specific times to eat? I work funny shifts so it's hard and is eating before bed bad for you? Thanks

Timing of meals doesn't matter when it comes to losing/maintaining weight. It's how many calories you eat within a day/week/month that matters.

WHEN you eat is a matter of preference, and how it makes you feel.

When is personal preference. Timing and frequency are irrelevant to weight loss.

I eat when I'm hungry. Sometimes that is once a day, sometimes it's 4 times a day. As long as I'm within my calorie range for the week, I don't sweat it.

It's generally not recommended to go right to sleep after eating though.

If you have problems with acid reflux you probably don't want to lie down soon after eating. Other than that meal timing doesn't matter. Just do whatever works best for your hunger and your schedule.

Meal timing does not directly affect weight, but I like the structure that eating regularly provides me with. Eating before bed would be bad if it affects your sleep in a bad way, if you have GERD or something like that. I can't think of anything else.
