Currently I have been dealing with a grade 3 sprained ankle and have been wondering how long I should do stationary cycling to stay in shape for running long distance track Any suggestions on workouts?

I remember when I sprained my ankle....I had a hard enough time getting from point a to point b with my crutches and then later on with an air cast and a limp so working out wasn't really on my mind.

I agree with the poster above, before doing anything check with your doctor - you could damage it more.

I would see what the doctor recommends
From my previous sprains, I could barely walk without crutches. Walking or doing any physical activity would cause my ankle to worsen.

I have both badly sprained my ankle and broken my leg in spectacular fashion. Ask the doctor and FOLLOW WHAT THEY SAY. When I sprained my ankle, I rushed getting back to normal, and it took months to really properly heal. Thankfully, I was totally non weight bearing when I broke my leg, so I had no choice but to listen that time.
