First two months using MFP

I've read through a lot of these success stories and they are very inspiring!
I've been using MFP since Jan. 1 and I am proud to say I've lost 34 pounds and I feel fantastic! My ultimate goal is to lost 85 pounds which is lofty but I'm almost half way there and I feel like nothing is going to stop me now! MFP has been a key factor in my success and I'd be lost without it.

My fitness pal0 -
I thought I'd post an update from my original post, which was 2 months ago.
It has now been 5 months and I am down a total of 53 pounds. The weight is definitely coming off a lot slower these days (1 - 2 lbs per week) but I feel better than I have in years and I only have 32 pounds to go to hit my goal of 85 pounds!
Do I wish the weight was coming off quicker? Of course I do, but this is a process and I've learned that staying patient and focused is key.
I have increased my workout frequency and intensity in the past 6 weeks and I'm feeling stronger every day. I ran 10k for the first time in my life a few days ago.
I also thought I'd share four key factors that have contributed to my success. None of these are groundbreaking and we've all heard them before but for me they are all essential.
1. MFP - I believe My Fitness Pal is the number one factor in my success. I can't overstate the importance of logging your food and being accountable for what you are eating. Side-note: It's nearly impossible to eat healthy and clean every day. Focus on eating healthy 90% of the time. There's perfection in imperfection.
2. Fitness - It really doesn't matter what your fitness program is, just find something you can stick to. I started off slow -- walking 1 mile/day... then 2 miles... then 3... then walk run... then run. Start slow and work yourself into something more. I started going to Orange Theory 2x per week at the start of March, now I go almost every day. It's amazing how far I've come in a short period of time.
3. Sleep - Studies have shown how important it is for the body to get proper rest and how that relates to weight loss. My goal is to get a minimum of 7 hours every night and although it doesn't happen every night I hit that goal the majority of the time.
4. Water consumption - This is extremely important for a number of reasons. I struggled with this at the start but have gradually got to the point where 2 liters/day is normal. Strive to make this a priority.
I will post another update at the end of July! I am hoping to be within 15 pounds of my goal!8 -

Thanks for your tips. And also congratulations . I feel that pain of it going very slowly. I'm only losing half a lb a week or less despite diet exercise and a positive mindset. I just need to stay patient. As long as I'm not gaining it's all a loss !2

You're doing the right thing! Enjoy the process -- as slow as it might be -- and take pride in your losses, as small as you think they might me. After losing 53 pounds, I can tell you I had plenty of weeks where I lost only 1 pound or less. But it all adds up over time!
Keep up the great work! You're doing awesome!0
