Rely on MFP calories burned or elliptical machine?

If MFP says I burned 450 calories on the elliptical but the elliptical reads 400, which one would you go with? I am thinking the machine knows best....thoughts?

Are there sensors on the machine? If not then neither is really accurate. If you can afford it, invest in a heart rate monitor. It's the closest in determining calories burned.0

I'd go with neither. The machines estimates are usually wildly overestimated. I get on the elliptical with the sensor and type in my height weight and sex and age, it says I've burned 1000 cals in 45 mins. There's no way that is accurate at my size .
As far as mfp estimates, they tend to be high too . many people only eat back a fraction of those calories for that reason.0 -
I really don't think MFP is accurate... When I start my cool down on the treadmill at a brisk walk for 10-15 minutes its only about 50 cals on the machine (monitoring my heart rate) but MFP tries to say 84-100 lol that would be nice. I'm thinking the most accurate would be a fit bit though.0
