what do you do when...

Just curious because I know that numerous people have had to run into this problem before. When you went out/ordered something from a local restaurant that's not available in the food database and can't log it. I asked my boyfriend to ask them for the nutritional information when he picked it up but he forgot. It's really no big deal because I decided it was going to be a cheat meal anyways because my cravings wanted something a bit more flavorful than what I have been eating for weeks and I deserved it It also wasn't anything really bad like an in-n-out animal style double cheeseburger with animal style fries lol(*side note* had to look that up because I eat that every time I go back home to CA about 1,200 cals)...I only had a shrimp pizza on pita bread with goat cheese, pesto and artichoke from a new Greek place. But I know even salad meals from restaurants can be like 500-700 cals. Like I said It is no big deal I am not stressing it, just wanted to make a mental note of around how many calories it was and wondered how everyone else who meticulously keeps up with their food diary handles situations like that.

Pick database entries that you think are reasonably close.0

thanks, that is what I originally was thinking because that is what I have to do with my Juices and smoothies at Jamba...(I work there but make my own crazy concoctions and just find one on the database that's kinda similar to what I made so I can at least get an estimate) Guess I was just being finicky when I typed in "shrimp pizza" and couldn't tell what I was looking for. Pictures would be helpful! *suggestion to MFP*0

You could estimate the amount and types of Ingredients and try to recreate it in the meal creation tab.0

You could also at least try to Google their nutritional info. If they have it available in store it's most likely available online as well.0

Not what you asked, but... Why isn't your usual food flavorful? You may want to look for tastier foods (that fit your goals) to eat on a consistent basis.0

I try to enter in all of the ingredients separately --- for example, Vietnamese chicken soup, Pho Ga. I added broth separately, shredded chicken, veggies, soy sauce, etc.0

I pick things I believe to be close and will put 1.2 servings instead because I would rather it be an overestimation than under.0
