Babadook, the audition (1999), it follows, cabin fever(the original not the new remake), high tension, the martyrs (original not new remake).

For new ones avoid the forest, the visit, and the remakes of cabin fever and the martyrs.

I love, love horror movies the cheesier the better but there really aren't many good ones lately

I want to see 31 (Rob zombie). It wasn't on my android box last time I checked but I will watch it as soon as it is.

Oh I like the ones listed too (except human centipede haven't seen it). Every post reminds me of other movies I like lol

To answer the question in your title, "Ichi the Killer."

However, this is not a recommendation. It's pretty disturbing.

The Witch was fantastic! I know it had a lot of mixed reviews, but I really enjoyed it!
    I also enjoyed The Visit.
The Descent is probably the scariest movie ever. I refuse to go into caves anymore after watching that one.

It Follows. The Witch. Many many classics from before most people here were born, like the original The Haunting (1963, not god forbid the remake), The Exorcist (1973), Rosemary's Baby (1968), Nosferatu (1922). Ju-On, The Ring in the original Japanese versions. The strange Lovecraftian Japanese film Spiral (Uzu-Maki). The Thing.

I don't consider gross out movies like Human Centipede to be worthy of the label horror. There's no subtlety to them or other redeeming quality I can see. They're horror snuff porn.

Audition - probably the most truly disturbing film I've ever seen. You have to be okay with subtitles though.

How long does it take to get to the horror snuff porn? Hostel II took way too long.

Netflix has all three available streaming!

Also as I mentioned upstream there seems to be a lot of (unnecessary) remakes coming out lately. You should check out the original first. For example cabin fever. The new one is the same script with worse actors.

I love horror movies but find it difficult to become scared by them now. The one that horrified me as a child was The Ring.

I dont remember how old I was, but, I remember going to see the original night of the living dead, when it first
came out. (yes a longgg time ago) My uncle brought my brother and I to a drive in. We were kinda little, but, he was so excited to see it. We both threw up all over his car, when, they started eating each other....:) My uncle was not very pleased. :) Ironically, I have loved horror movies since that time. Second in line Excorcist.

The Conjuring....if you believe in ghosts or any of that, it is quite freaky...especially when they show the actual people and house that it was based upon at the end
