Hi, I am back at this again, with lots of weight to lose, want some motivators, that know what aches and pains attack us and the things that hold us back in the 50 plus age group.

I am 54. My motivation was missing out on a once in a lifetime opportunity with my son because I was over the weight limit.

Same story here. I'm 58, and 15 years ago I lost 70 lbs on WW. In the intervening years, I gained it all back again - a common story. My motivation is that my cholesterol went way up and my doctor was talking about putting me on statins. I said "Give me a month; I *know* I can lose some weight!" He recommended the MapMyWalk app, and it really helped! I lost almost 30 lbs in 3 months, but now I need to refocus and work harder at losing some more, so I joined MFP today. I'm sure we can all do this!

Welcome Wanda. I have reached a plateau. I am seeking friends to keep me motivated as I fight through it. I agree though, we can do it. Just need to stay focused on the why?

I am 50 but closer to 51 than 49. I’m walking for my exercise cause I know I won’t get to the gym. But I’ve been very diligent about keeping track of my food. I also have a new Fitbit that I mainly wanted for sleep but I’m loving it for walking.
