Hi again. I just started MFP today and I am liking it very much. I find it quite handy. Also I love that the one thing that I never have I can find here... Support and motivation from others; to know that I am not the only one going through weight loss struggles everday. Well... I know that the key to weight loss and keep it off is to make this a lifestyle change not a DIET. But.... I would like to know everyones opinion on the 3 or 4 day diet. Also and tips on how to make this easier and a bit less irritating. I hate getting cracky and mood towards my family and friends when I start on a weight loss goal.
Love lots of feed back
thanks.

You need to find a way to make it work for you. This isn't about eating foods you hate to make you lose weight. It's about understanding portion control and incorporating healthy foods into your diet everyday. Find exercise that you like doing or you will end up quitting. Take small steps to make changes. Drink water instead of soda, eat fruit as snacks, find lean protein types - fish, chicken, beans. Ask questions if you have them... and you will get answers!0

What has really helped us all (my family) this week was a big shopping trip on Saturday where we loaded up with fresh fruits and veggies. But what I did when I got home is the big part:
Put apples and oranges in bowl on counter, where they are visible
Peel carrots and cut into carrot sticks (about 1/2 the bag), but them in container in front of fridge. Same for celery (some big for ants on a log, others smaller for munching/dipping)
Cut up broccoli and cauliflower into florets and put in bags at front of fridge.
Bread is not in very visible locations (it's good for sandwiches and occasional but we were snacking too much on it); cookies and cake and chips are pretty much out of the house.
Now when we want a snack, we see fruits and veggies first and we don't have to do anything hard to eat them, just pull them out of container.
It's easy to do the same thing with other fruits/veggies - just make them easily accessible and ready to eat, and you can munch away when you feel the desire to snack. Even the kids are going for these healthy treats instead of asking for junk all the time.0 -
I am not a fan of the word diet period because it sounds temporary. When you give yourself the freedom of eating whatever you want in whatever portion you want for a few days a week overtime the poor eating habits of a few days carries over into the rest of your week. I found that eating frequently(every two hours) and enjoying the foods I love in small portions, while adding fruits, vegetables, and leaner meats has helped me to lose 33 lbs. so far. I actually am never hungry, which works for me because when I feel full I am less irritable. Also, I found that by incorporating 1 hour a day at the gym I am able to have more energy and feel better about myself. Once I set in my mind that this is the beginning of the rest of my new healthier life, it was easy to make the transition into eating more healthily and taking care of my body.0

Three day diets aren't recommended but have you thought about a 3 day cleanse with Shakeology? It can help kick start your weight loss goals. http://tiny.cc/1tm6h0 -
I don't do diets. I find when I'm on diets I just crave. So, instead I try to just eat less and smarter. For instance, I want muffins but they have so much sugar. What did I do? Went to this forum in the recipe section and found one that sounds amazing. I can still have what I want I'm just smarter about having it.0
